Welcome to Italy
26 km | 20 m Elevation.
On arrival at the airport you will be met by one of our friendly staff and transferred to our amazing hotel in Milano Marittima, the luxury beach resort on the coast of beautiful Emilia-Romagna. The 5 star Palace Hotel, situated next to seafront, is the perfect place to ride from, relax and unwind after long travel. For those hiring bikes, we will do a bike fit and make any adjustments that maybe necessary. Fitting pedals, lights, saddles etc is our work and not yours! Before dinner we will all meet for a welcome cocktail with our staff, and introduce you to the exquisite Romagnolo sparkling wines. Dinner will be in the beautiful setting of the hotel, where we will sample some of the Emilia-Romagna specialties.
Milan Marittima
Anello Valli di Comacchio
58 km | 50 m elevation.
After a peaceful night’s sleep and amazing breakfast it’s time for our first full day. We will head off to on a beautiful trip where we will take a small ferry trip to complete our loop. We will enjoy a loop hugging the sea with plenty of chances for coffee and ice-cream.
Milan Marittima
LONGIANO LOOP
61 km | 310 m elevation.
Today is a mix of nature, history, culture, and gastronomic delights, framed by beautiful views of the coast. We will ride on a quiet network of country roads, a legacy of the ancient Roman road tracks, to the medieval village Longiano with its beautiful 12th century Malatestian Castle. Enjoy the spectacular view over the Adriatic coast here! We’ll have lunch at a lovely trattoria with a view, after which we ride to the historic Turchi farm for a unique olive oil tasting. For those who like to dive deeper into history Longiano has some small but very nice museums.
A relaxing ride back to the coast takes us to Cesenatico, the town of cycling legend Marco Pantani. Enjoy a stroll along the utterly charming Leonardo da Vinci port channel, a sneak-peek into the Pantani museum, or explore the Maritime museum, the only floating museum in Italy!
Milan MarittimaVERUCCHIO and san Marino
64 kM | 930 m elevation.
Before hopping on our bikes in Rimini, some important Roman remains like the Tiberius bridge are waiting to show us their splendour. As we’ll see, Rimini is also the home town of famous film director Federico Fellini… A short ride takes us to Sant’Arcangelo, a stunning medieval hilltop village where time stands still. The village was built on network of mysterious tufa caves, which is quite peculiar, as we will see! Going on you will notice that every hilltop has its medieval village with a castle, and we picked the best for you: Verucchio, city of art and wine! You will feel like biking in a painting by Piero della Francesca.
No visit to Verucchio is complete without a lunch at the famous Oste del Castello, with breathtaking views over the area. For those who wish to challenge their legs a little more, our guide will take you to San Leo, a true gem situated on an enormous rock and accessible only through a road carved into the rock. We will pedal back to our hotel along scenic little hill roads, with plenty time to relax before we set off to dinner in a truly magic venue…

CESENA
61 km | 90 m elevation.
Following the river Savio on a fabulous cycle path, we will cross the Etruscan salt ponds in Cervia where we may spot some pink flamingos, keep your cameras ready for some amazing pictures!
On the hill adjacent to Cesena another stunning Malatestiana fortress invites us to admire the views from here. The fortress was designed by Leonardo da Vinci again. Cesena is a lovely historic town, with plenty squares and little shops to discover during a relaxed stroll around. We will recommend a few delicious lunch spots for every taste. Back in our hotel enjoy the lovely spa or beach club, and why not indulge yourself in some shopping in the high-end boutiques?Dinner will be in a nearby countryside ‘agriturismo’, a haven of good food and superb hospitality.
Milan MarittimaFAENZA
46 km | 490 m elevation.
Today’s ride is relatively short but with great landscape variety. After a transfer we start from Faenza, the city of ceramics (some lovely craft shops to be visited) and after a few kilometres we will be surrounded completely by the magic of the peaceful Romagna hills. As we pass through the ‘Chalk Vein Park’ a few challenging ascents await us, but what rewarding spectacular views we can enjoy here!
This area is famous with photographers for the particularity of the landscape! In the stunning village Brisighella, built on three chalk outcrops, enjoy a walk around the medieval centre, and admire the ‘Donkey Alley’, an elevated road famous for its extraordinary architecture, as it supplied cover to the many carts and donkeys which used it in the past. The Brisighella area boosts a particular quality of olive oil, in fact it has its own classification. We won’t miss a chance to tase this fantastic olive oil at the outdoor oil museum.
Tonight is our last dinner, we will head to Ravenna there is plenty of time to stroll around the centre and explore the truly spectacular Unesco sites. This is your chance to see an underwater mosaic in one of the amazing churches! It will be sure to create the most memorable of evenings as we reflect on a week of friendship and toast La Bella Italia.

SUNRISE RIDE & DEPARTURES
15 km | 20 m elevation.
All things come to an end, but what an end! for those who wish, we will ride into the pinewoods with their unique atmosphere, and then hop on a canoe towards the salt ponds for a whole different sunrise experience!
After coming back to our hotel for a refreshing shower and check-out, it is time to say our farewells. If you are not staying to further explore this lovely area, your guides will be happy to help you arrange your transportation to the airport or the train station - safe travels!
